Feature: translated kitchen tickets
Francesco Boffa
Why translated menus?
When we first introduced translated menus, we really had your international customers in mind.
We did not expect it to become the driver of one of our most requested functionality.
In a massive and multicultural city like London, just one of the cities where ORDR has a strong presence, the continuous influx of jobseekers means that not everyone will be fluent in the local language.
It’s also common for growing food businesses to branch to the UK capital carrying along their staff.
It quickly become clear that the same menu translation tool that works for your customers, can work for your staff as well.
After a couple of months of beta testing with selected clients, you can now configure your ORDR Kitchen tickets to be printed in the language spoken by your staff.
One of the ORDR restaurants in Naples, Italy, messaged us saying “We source staff for our Italian restaurant in Italy. Translated tickets have completely removed the biggest source of mistakes in our kitchen.”
When customers request “Tuna Sashimi”, your Japanese speaking staff will be asked to prepare “マグロの刺身”. You can now get your vino bianco and relax.
