ORDR

A point-of-sale, in print and on the floor

SMS messaging terms.

The terms for ORDR's order-related text messages — who sends them, what they contain, how you give consent, and how to stop them.

In effect since 17 June 2026 1 version on record

These terms explain how ORDR’s text-message (SMS) service works: who sends the messages, what they are for, how your consent is obtained, and how to stop receiving them. They apply whenever you give your mobile number to pay for or track an order placed through ORDR.

Who sends the messages

ORDR is a cloud point-of-sale platform operated by Soho Technologies Ltd (“ORDR”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales. Independent hospitality venues — restaurants, bars, cafés and similar businesses — use ORDR to take orders and payments from their own customers.

When you receive a text about an order, it is sent through ORDR, and the regulated messaging provider we use to deliver SMS, on behalf of the individual venue you ordered from. The name of that venue appears in the message, so you always know which business it relates to.

What the messages are for

This is a transactional service. We send text messages only in connection with an order you have placed, for example:

  • a secure link to pay for an order you have made with a venue;
  • confirmation that your order has been received and is being prepared;
  • an update that your order is ready for collection;
  • an update that your order is out for delivery, with an estimated arrival time.

These messages are operational. We do not use this service to send marketing or promotional messages.

You opt in by entering your own mobile number at the checkout when you place an order, in order to receive messages about that specific order. A clear notice is shown at the point where you enter your number, explaining what the messages are for, so that providing your number is a deliberate, informed choice. You are never added by anyone else.

How often you will hear from us

Messages are tied to a specific order you place — they are sent as that order is paid for and progresses. This is not a recurring subscription, and the number of messages depends on the order you make and the updates relevant to it.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile network and plan. ORDR does not charge you to receive these messages.

Stopping messages and getting help

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will stop receiving order-status texts; you may still receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed.

For help, reply HELP to any message, or email us at help@ordr.menu.

Your privacy

We do not share your mobile information, or your SMS opt-in and consent data, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use your number only to send the order-related messages described above and to operate the service.

For full details of how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
